MPL Corporation is a provider of Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) services to the NASA IV&V Program located in Fairmont, West Virginia. At the NASA IV&V Facility, we support NASA's IV&V Program, delivering analysis and verification & validation of safety-critical and mission-critical software for a number of important NASA programs, including both human and robotic exploration as well as earth and space science collection platforms.  MPL Corporation also supports the Systems and Software Engineering Tools Services (SET) contract, which provides support services for a set of functions that are part of the overall IV&V Program including Software Analysis Tools development and maintenance, Flight Software Test Beds / Simulation Development & Maintenance (FSTB), Capability Development (CD) Support, Technical Quality and Excellence (TQ&E) Support, Software Issues and Anomalies, Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA) Office (SSO) Support, IV&V Program Management and Institutional Services  Support, Technical Assessments /Studies.


 Job Description:


MPL Corporation is seeking a junior software developer to join our NASA team in Fairmont, WV supporting the development and maintenance of IV&V analysis and Software Assurance tools under the SET contract.  We would like someone that has some programming knowledge and/or experience in Java or C# ideally; however, experience with C++ as a high-level language could work as well. Generally, we are looking for a candidate who has had some exposure academically or otherwise to object-oriented design and programming concepts, and web related technology knowledge and/or experience would be a plus.


Qualifications



  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar software degree and 0 yrs - 2 yrs experience

  • Programming experience with Java or C#

  • Able to work in small teams and independently on software development tasks as necessary

  • Able to analyze customer provided requirements, design/implement solutions (using supported IV&V development tools), and work with NASA to deploy to teams across the IV&V Facility

  • Willing to learn new tools and produce innovative products for our NASA customer

  • Able to develop software using object-oriented software design and implementation principles

  • Familiarity with agile software development practices

  • Able to utilize results of automated static code analysis tools to identify and fix software defects, including security related defects


 


Desired Qualifications 



  • If more experienced applicant, able to lead small to mid-size teams in software development tasks

  • Familiarization with static code analysis tools such as FlexeLint, CodeSonar, Polyspace Code Prover & Bug Finder, Fortify, Klocwork Inspect/Insight

  • Web related technology knowledge and/or experience
